Giorgiana Strazzullo

Giorgiana Strazzullo (1987), a Neapolitan violinist, began her musical studies at the age of nine, before graduating in 2007 with the highest marks at the Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory in Avellino under the guidance of Alberto Maria Ruta (Quartetto Savinio); she continued her specialization course at prestigious institutions such as the Fiesole Music School, the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona and the International Academy of Imola “Incontri col Maestro”.

In 2008 she founded the Mitja Quartet, a formation with which she followed a study path with Pro Quartet in Paris and Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, receiving illuminating interpretive insights from esteemed members of the quartet world, musicians from the Alban Berg Quartet, the Artemis Quartet, the Casals Quartet and the Kuss Quartet.

They have been awarded important scholarships from the Fiesole Music School, thanks to the support of Andrea Nannoni and Antonello Farulli, and from the Mozart Italy Association of Modica which offered them a masterclass and a concert with Alfred Brendel.

Since 2015, with the Mitja Quartet, she is dedicated to the rediscovery the Italian chamber music repertoire, receiving the highest praise from critics for his monographic album on Gian Francesco Malipiero (Tactus). In 2020, Urania Records released the first volume of the Complete 18 Quartets by Gaetano Donizetti, which was well received by international critics with a nomination to the ICMA 2022.

She has also been a guest on various radio and television stations, such as Radio3 and Radio CRC, La7, Rai2 and Rai5, collaborating also with musicologists Giovanni Bietti and Sandro Cappelletto.

As a communicator, she has presented, interviewed, and hosted radio broadcasts for Venice Classic Radio during Cremona Musica (2021 and 2022 editions), under the artistic direction of Roberto Prosseda.
