Veronica Fabbri Valenzuela

Italo-Chilean cellist Veronica Fabbri graduated with highest marks and honors at the ISSM “G. Verdi” in Ravenna and at the “L. Cherubini” Conservatoire in Florence under A. Nannoni with highest marks and honors.

She specialised on baroque cello under the guidance of M. Valli and she attended advanced classes with many illustrious musicians, including E. Dindo, M. Polidori, E. Bronzi, A. Cavuoto. She specialised in chamber music with A.Nannoni, A. Brendel, M. Facchini (Quartetto Fonè), M. Sciarretta, K. Ikeda (Tokyo String Quartet), H. Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartett), A. Farulli, O. Semchuk, Quartetto della Scala, Quartetto di Cremona and Trio di Parma.

For her love and dedication to the chamber music Veronica won the Chiarappa Prize in Florence in 2013 and also several competitions such as the 1st prize at the “Città di Riccione” National Competition and the 2nd prize at the “Dino Caravita” National Competition.

She was guest at important international music festivals and concert events such as: Salzburger Festspiele, Baku International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival, Izmir International Festival, Ravenna Festival, Festival of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Bologna Festival, Festival Pianistico Internazionale of Brescia and Bergamo, Festival dei Due Mondi of Spoleto, Giovani in musica of Ravenna; alongside great conductors such as R. Muti, K. Nagano, J. Conlon, K. Penderecki, H. Soudant, Vyacheslav Chernukho-Volich, M. Bosch, D. Renzetti, Ola Rudner.

With the Mitja Quartet Veronica performed for Associazione Alessandro Scarlatti of Naples alongside the great cellist G. Sollima, collaborated with the musicologists G. Bietti and S. Cappelletto and won an AMI Scholarship to attend a Masterclass with the great pianist A. Brendel in Modica.

In 2019, in collaboration with the Mitja Quartet, she was a judge at the I.C.A. (International Clarinet Association) Composition Competition.

In December 2020 with the Mitja Quartet she has released as its World Première the recording of G. Donizetti string quartets, launched by “Urania Records” under the artistic direction of B. Zùñiga. The first volume was well received by international critics with a nomination to the ICMA 2022 in the chamber music section; the second volume was recently released with worldwide distribution.
