Lorenza Maio
Graduated with honors in Recorder, in the class of Maestro Maria De Martini, at the “Nicola Sala” Conservatory of Music in Benevento, and in Violin, under the guidance of Maestro Giulio Rovighi, at the “Ottorino Respighi” Conservatory of Music in Latina.
She has attended numerous advanced courses taught by eminent teachers and performers, including Han Toll, Dan Laurin, Cristiano Rossi, Sergio Balestracci, Carlo Maria Parazzoli, Giuseppe Carotenuto.
She holds the role of “Principal Second Violin” in the Orchestra Filarmonica di Benevento since 2015, for national and international productions, under the direction of Sir Antonio Pappano, Daniel Oren, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Alessandro Cadario, Ezio Bosso, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Daniel Smith, and in collaboration with soloists such as Giovanni Sollima, Beatrice Rana, Anna Tifu, Clarissa Bevilacqua, Jessica Pratt, Rosa Feola.
In 2014, she played with the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino, as “First Recorder”, under the direction of Maestro Alessandro De Marchi in the production of Handel’s “Giulio Cesare”, broadcasted live on Radio3.
She has participated in the recording of film soundtracks with the “Modo Antiquo” Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Federico Maria Sardelli, at the “Parco della Musica” in Rome and in CD recordings, both on recorder and violin, for Da Vinci Classics and for ACT.
Since November 2021, she is part of the Quartetto Mitja, as a second violinist, with concerts among others for the Alessandro Scarlatti Association and the Gioventù Musicale d’Italia Foundation with Giovanni Bietti.
